Hello and welcome to our new website!
March is Integrated Education Month and we celebrated in school with a special assembly! We invited guests from our local community: local clergy, local politicians, sports coaches, post-primary principals, current governors and founding governors!
Children from throughout the school took part, explaining to our visitors what integration means to us. We explained the history of our school and how we have grown from our first class in 1991 to an almost full school of 224 pupils! P4 sang and signed a song to show how welcoming our school is to children of all abilities. P7 gave a presentation of the myths of St Patrick and the choir entertained us with a rendition of a Peace Proms song. Everyone dressed in odd socks for the occassion and P3 explained that it is ok to be different!
We rounded off the morning with tea, coffee and tray bakes, kindly provided by our Parents' Council.
Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel is the UK's largest walking, wheeling, scooting and cycling challenge. It inspires pupils to make active journeys to school, improve air quality in their neighbourhood and discover how these changes benefit their world. Help us to celebrate the 15th year of Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel and make it the biggest one yet!
This year the challenge will run from Monday 11th March to Friday 22nd March. On each day of the challenge we will compete to see who can record the greatest number of pupils walking, using a wheelchair, scooting, roller skating, skateboarding or cycling to school! All schools who have 15% of their pupils taking part each day will be entered into a prize draw! The more people who take part, the better our chances of winning!
If children live too far away to "Walk and Wheel" the whole way to school, they can "park and stride": park near our school and travel sustainably for the rest of the way. To help out, a "Walking Bus" will be meeting each morning at 8.30am at The Cliff and volunteer supervisors will walk with the children to school.
Let's get on the move and help save our planet!
Corran IPS Parents' Council together with the Pupil Council are running a very sweet competition!
Pupils are asked to guess how many sweets have been crammed into a jar. It costs 50p per guess. The person who guesses the correct number wins the jar of sweets!
The competition will end on Friday 9th February, just before the school half term holidays. Someone lucky will be taking home a very special treat!
Calling all Masterminds, Eggheads and Pointless addicts! Our Parents' Council invite you to take part in a fundraising Quiz Night.
The event will take place in Larne Bowling and Lawn Tennis Club at 7.30pm on Friday 1st March. It costs £3 per person to take part and it's a maximum of 6 people per team.
This annual event is always good fun: a chance to spend some quality time with your friends and show off your fabulous general knowledge skills!
